How long have you seen these shags for?
we’ve been monitoring shag numbers in the channel islands since 1970 when the first official seabird count was undertaken. Shags are long lived birds and can reach the grand old age of 30. Shag numbers are decreasing in the Channel Islands which is probably due partly to climate change with changes in their food availability and partly to disturbance at their breeding sites

How long have you seen these for puffins for?
What sort of area do they live in and why?
What time of year do puffins come out,
do you feed them??
Hi,
The puffins arrived back in March and will leave again in September but we have been monitoring them since 2005.
They live on Burhou in burrows as it protects them from predators.
No the puffins are very good at fishing so they don’t need us to feed them!
